abstract | A compound of formula (1), or pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or N-oxide thereof, or a solvate of any of the foregoing:n wherein: one of X and Y is CO and the other is NR 9 , R 9 being hydrogen or as defined with R 1 ; A is a groupn n orn wheren p and q each independently are 0 to 2; Z is O or S; nis 0 or 1; and one of R 6 and R 7 when n=0 is C 1-4 alkoxy, C 1-4 alkoxycarbonyl, hydroxy of C 1-4 alkyl optionally substituted by hydroxy, C 1-4 alkoxy or C 1-4 acyloxy, and the other is hydrogen or C 1-4 alkyl or one of R 6 , R 7 and R 8 when n=1 is C 1-4 alkyl and the other two are the same or different and are hydrogen or C 1-4 alkyl. n R 5 is C 1-7 alkyl, -(CH 2 ) s R 10 , s being 0 to and R 10 being C 3-8 cycloalkyl, -(CH 2 ) t R 11 , t being 1 or 2 and R 1 being thienyl or phenyl optionally substituted by one or two substituents selected from C 1-4 alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, halogen, nitro, carboxy, esterified carboxy and C 1-4 alkyl optionally substituted by hydroxy, C 1-4 alkoxy, carboxy, esterified carboxy or in vivo hydrolysable acyloxy:n and either R 1 is C 1-6 alkoxy, C 1-6 alkylthio or, together with R 9 when Y is NR 9 , C 1-2 alkylene, one of R 2 , R 3 and R 4 is R 15 SO 2 NR 20 where R 15 is C 1-6 alkyl, or amino optionally substituted by one ortwo groups selected from C 1-6 alkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl C 1-4 alkyl, phenyl or phenyl C 1-4 alkyl groups, any of which phenyl groups may be substituted by one or more groups selected from halogen, trifluoromethyl, C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 alkoxy and nitro, or optionally substituted by C 4 - 5 polymethylene and R 20 is hydrogen or C 1-4 alkyl, and the other two of R 2 , R 3 and R 4 together are C 1-2 alkylenedioxy, or the other two are the same or different and are selected from hydrogen, halogen, trifluoromethyl, C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 alkoxy, C 1-7 acyl, carboxylic C 1-7 acylamino, C 1-6 alkylsulphonyl, C 1-6 alkylsulphinyl, hydroxy, nitro or amino, aminocarbonyl or aminosulphonyl optionally N-substituted by one or two C 1-6 alkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl C 1-4 alkyl groups or optionally N-disubstituted by C 4 - 5 polymethylene, or R 1 and R 2 together are C 1-2 alkylendioxy; one of R 3 and R 4 is R 15 SO 2 NR 20 as defined, and the other is selcted from the groups defined hereinbefore for R 3 and R 4 . |
