abstract |
Feed additive for ruminants, which consists of water-insoluble zinc complexes of one or more essential amino acids. The preparation is carried out by reacting amino acid and water-soluble zinc salt in a molar ratio of amino acid to zinc salt of 2: 1 in an acidic medium and subsequent precipitation by increasing the pH to 7.5. The water-insoluble complexes are preferably mixed or coated with a rumen-resistant matrix. The feed additive for ruminants according to the invention provides a better combination of rumen passage and absorption in the subsequent digestive tract of essential amino acids compared to known feed additives, so that the actual availability of the additionally administered essential amino acids is improved. |
