Compounds of the formula (I): n nwherein R¹, R³, R⁴, R⁵ and R⁶ have defined values and nthe N-oxides at the 7-position of the pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine nring system and the pharmaceutically-acceptable acid-adndition salts thereof, processes for their preparation, pharnmaceutical compositions, and intermediates for preparing nsaid compounds of the formula (I). The compounds of fornmula (I) are central nervous system depressants, for examnple anxiolytic agents. |
