abstract Synergistic herbicide combinations comprising (a) com­npounds of the formula n nwherein R₁ is selected from the group consisting of lower al­nkyl having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, haloalkyl, benzyl and nsubstituted benzyl, phenethyl, pyridylmethyl, cycloalkyl nhaving from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and haloalkenyl having nfrom 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and R₂ and R₃ are each indepen­ndently selected from the group consisting of C₂-C₆ alkyl, nC₂-C₆ alkenyl and C₃-C₈ cycloalkyl, provided further that R₂ nand R₃ can join with the nitrogen to which they are attached nto form a 5 to 6 carbon ring structure, and (b) an herbicidally neffective amount of an anilide having the formula n nin which R₄ is hydrogen and lower alkyl containing from nabout 2 to 5 carbon atoms, R₅ is alkyl containing from 1 to 8 ncarbon atoms, cycloalkyl having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, nlower alkenyl containing from 3 to 4 carbon atoms, and R₆ is nlower alkyl containing from 2 to 5 carbon atoms. In a typical napplication, the herbicide compositions are applied to the nsoil in either pre- or post-emergence treatment, or are ap­nplied to the seeds of the crop plant in herbicidally effective nconcentrations.
