titleOfInvention | Thermally curable olefinic polymers and manufacturing method for cured shaped objects made thereof |
abstract | Composition crosslinkable by heat obtained by kneading in the molten state of olefin polymers carrying hydroxyl functions with polyanhydrides partially or completely incompatible with such a polymer in the melt state. Mixing temperatures do not exceed 170 ° C. The mixtures obtained are transformed into finished objects by the usual techniques specific to thermoplastics and the crosslinking of these objects is carried out by heat treatment at a temperature below their melting point. Crosslinking is caused by the reaction between the hydroxyl groups carried by the polymer and the anhydride groups belonging to the polyanhydride. This can be dispersed using a masterbatch based on a polymer compatible with the hydroxylated polymer. It is thus possible to obtain the most diverse crosslinked objects while using the conventional transformation techniques of thermoplastic polymers. |
