Method of forming a hemostatic-adhesive web dressing and dressing formed thereby |
abstract |
Method of forming non-woven, dry, air-iaid, fibrous webs from fibers having hemostatic and self-adhesive properties by converting the bulk fibers into a web form utilising conventional dry, air-laid web forming equipment such as an integrated Rando-feeder and Rando-webber. The web after forming is calendered under closely controlled moisture content. The fibers are formed of an ionizable, water-insoiubie partial salt of collagen. The web is hemostatic and is self-adherent to wound surfaces. |
