abstract The device has a chain conveyor (12, 13) conveying the cheeses (48) provided with loosely applied labels (49) through a heating zone below the mouths of the hot air blower heads (42). During transport the labels are retained by an endless flexible pressure belt (39) moving at the same speed as the conveyor above and at a distance from the latter which automatically varies according to the thickness of the cheese. The paraffin layer of the cheese melts in the heating zone and the pressure belt, which has the form of a net, compresses the label against the molten paraffin.
