Fire retardant composite fibres and process for producing them |
abstract |
A process for producing polyolefin composite fibres of fine deniers having superior fire retardant and heat adhesive properties with good spinnability, and such polyolefin composite fibres are provided wherein a fire retardant or retardants having a decomposition temperature higher by 100°C or more, than the respective melting points of the higher and lower melting components of the composite fibres and also having a particle size of 62 microns or less, are contained in the respective components in 3 to 15% by weight and the total amount of the fire retardant(s) in the whole of the fibres is 5 to 10% by weight. |
