titleOfInvention System for maximum efficiency transfer of modulated signals utilizing line systems
abstract A signal transfer and processing system used with a transmission line includes a transmission line interface circuit (A) and a signal processing circuit (100). The processing circuit has an input (113) for receiving a signal to be processed, and a signal output (117) for providing a processed signal ready for further use. A bandwidth input filter (119, SW7) filters the signal to be processed to selectively limit its bandwidth. A first frequency control (123) selectively controls the relative level of the signal obtained from these first bandwidth filter means (123) to selectively control the relative level of signal dynamics in a plurality of different frequency bands to thereby provide a frequency controlled signal. A first dynamic control circuit (127) dynamically compresses the frequency controlled signal to produce a first compressed signal. A second active frequency control (135) selectively controls the relative level of the first compressed signal in a plurality of different frequency bands to produce a first compressed frequency controlled signal. A second dynamic control circuit (137) dynamically compresses the last mentioned signal, providing a second compressed signal. A feedback circuit (128, 129, 140) interconnected between the first and second dynamic control circuits limits dynamic compression by the first dynamic control circuit as a timed function to increase the level of the second compressed signal . An output bandwidth filter (152, SW8) filters the second compressed signal to selectively limit its bandwidth. The interface circuit includes switching circuits (30) for interconnecting the signal input and signal output of the signal processing circuit with the transmission line.
