abstract R a Wasserstoff, Halogen oder Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen, R 1 und R 2 (a) jeweils Alkyl mit bis zu 14, zusammen 4 bis 16 C-Atomen oder gemeinsam Alkylen mit 4 bis 8 C-Atomen, falls R Wasserstoff, Halogen, Alkyl mit 1 bis 6 C-Atomen oder Alkoxy mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen bedeutet, (b) jeweils Alkyl mit 1 bis 6 C-Atomen oder gemeinsam Alkylen mit 2 bis 8 C-Atomen, falls R Alkyl mit 3 bis 18 C-Atomen odern bedeutet, nR 3 und R 4 jeweils Alkyl mit 1 bis 6 C-Atomen oder gemeinsam Alkylen mit 2 bis 8 C-Atomen und Z -CO-, -CH 2 -, -0- oder -S-bedeuten, nsind als Initiatoren für die Strahlungshärtung wäßriger Prepolymerdispersionen geeignet. Sie zeigen eine gute Stabilität in wäßrigen Systemen sowie bei der Entfernung des Wassers aus diesen Systemen und eine beträchtlich gesteigerte Reaktivität in ihrem Vermögen, die Härtung wäßriger strahlungshärtbarer Systeme zu initiieren.Hydroxyalkylphenones of the general formula I R is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or wherein R a is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 1 and R 2 (a) each alkyl with up to 14, together 4 to 16 C atoms or together alkylene with 4 to 8 C atoms, if R is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl with 1 to 6 C atoms or alkoxy 1 to 4 carbon atoms means (b) in each case alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or together alkylene having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, if R is alkyl having 3 to 18 carbon atoms or means R 3 and R 4 are each alkyl with 1 to 6 C atoms or together alkylene with 2 to 8 C atoms and Z are -CO-, -CH 2 -, -0- or -S-, are suitable as initiators for the radiation curing of aqueous prepolymer dispersions. They show good stability in aqueous systems and in the removal of water from these systems and a considerably increased reactivity in their ability to initiate the curing of aqueous radiation-curable systems.
