abstract Device for recovering samples of blood and other fluids for clinical testing purposes. The device comprises an open-ended vial (11) and a stopper (12) provided with a capillary tube (24) for drawing fluids into the vial (11). The stopper (12) is internally threaded and the flask (11) is provided at its open end (15) with at least one arcuate flange (16) which can engage in the threads (19) of the stopper (12) to offset the elements axially as they rotate relative to each other. A vent opening (21) arranged in the plug (12) is closed by the flange or flange (16) when the parts or elements are tightly screwed together and it is unblocked to allow the passage of air to and from the vial (11) when the parts or elements are unscrewed while still being connected to each other. Retaining lips (22) provided in the plug (12) hold the parts together when they are in their unscrewed state.
