abstract |
Derivatives of hippuryl-L-phenylalanine having the following general formula:n wherein X reprsents OH or CH 3 O are novel substances and are used in determining the activity of carboxypeptidase-A in a liquid medium containing it by addition to the liquid medium prior to or together with hippuricase, 4-aminoantipyrine and an oxidising agent. The concentration of the quinonimine dye which is formed as a result of adding the oxidising agent is measured colounmetrically to give a value from which the activity of carboxypeptidase A may be determined. |
