abstract | Melamine-formaldehyde modified resins are prepared with a molar ratio of melamine: formaldehyde = 1 : (1.25 to 0.7), by heating the melamine solution, respectively aqueous suspension with the formaldehyde in a molar ratio of melamine: formaldehyde = 1 : (1, 27 to 0.7) with a pH comprised between 8 and 11 at a temperature ranging from 105 to 160`C during a period of time sufficient to obtain a resin having at 20`C a dilution power in water of 1 : (0.1 to 4). There is added before, during or after condensation less than 25% by weight of a glycol ether having the formula R (OCH<u2>uCH<u2>u)<un>uOH wherein R is an alkyl containing 1 to 4 atoms of carbon and n is an integer from 1 to 5 and/or p-toluol sulfonamide. The resins are used for the preparation of moulded bodies. |
