abstract The invention relates to an arrangement for ending a tachycardia, which emits stimulation pulses to the heart in synchronism with the heartbeats and with a variable time delay. In order to quickly find the correct delay time and thus increase the chances of ending a tachycardia, the invention provides a device (5) for measuring the time between two cardiac signals and a computing unit (7) which derives a number of different delay times from them the shortest corresponds to a predeterminable value and the difference between neighboring delay times increases with increasing times. The delay times can be stored in a register (8) and run through in a definable order.
