abstract Aqueous cleaning compositions of viscosity >180 centipoises at 20°C are provided containing a trialkyl amine oxide of formula R 1 R 2 R 3 N→O, where 13 < R 1 ≤ 18 and R 2 and R 3 are C 1 -C 4 alkyl, as the sole surfactant at a level of 0.5% to 5.0% by weight of the composition. The compositions also incorporate one or more ionisable water soluble compounds to provide an ionic strength of 3.0 g molesldm 3 minimum, and in preferred embodiments this is provided by an alkali metal hypochlorite bleach component.
