titleOfInvention METHOD FOR DISPLAYING OUTPUT SIGNALS OF A RADIATION-SENSITIVE SENSOR ON A SCREEN.
abstract When displaying on a screen an image produced by the output signals of a radiation sensitive detector, for example an infrared detector, it may happen that low contrast details in the image are lost when the light intensity of the image covers too high an intensity range. In a method to avoid this loss of detail, the amplification of the low frequency parts of the video signals is adaptively regulated by calculating two statistical parameters, characteristic of the statistical properties of the values of the signals, and by regulating the amplification of the signal. so that a selected image intensity matches the calculated parameters.
