Karst, in an artificial solid medium to obtain a fungal tissue bed,… (b) maintaining the fungal tissue bed at a relative humidity of at least 90% and an illumination intensity of at most 500 Ix to form selectively a fruit body primordium from the fungal tissue bed, and… (c) maintaining the resulting culture at a relative humidity of from 40 to lower than 90% and an illumination intensity of at least 50 Ix to form a fungal pileus of the fruit body from the primordium.
