abstract A process is described for crosslinking and possibly foaming polypropylene and analog saturated polymers with alternating tertiary carbon atoms and their mixtures with crosslinking enhancers with at least two active (= polymerizable) CC double or CC triple bonds and one or more organic peroxides, optionally in the presence from a total of 1 to 20% by weight of one or more foaming agents, with complete or predominant absence of oxygen. Crosslinking is carried out using a total of 2.0 to 15% by weight of crosslinking enhancer and a total of 0.02 to 0.2% by weight of organic peroxide at temperatures of 160 ° C. to 220 ° C., the percentages being based on the weight of the crosslinking polymers.
