titleOfInvention Process for removing cesium ions from solutions by using an addition compound in solid form of a macrocyclic polyether and an inorganic heteropolyacid
abstract Process for separating cesium ions from aqueous solutions using an adduct compound in solid form from a macrocyclic polyether and an inorganic heteropoly acid.n n n The process can be carried out without any problems both in batch and in continuous operation, even in the presence of relatively large amounts of sodium and potassium ions, the adduct compounds from benzo-15-crown-5 (B-15-C- 5) or Dibenzo-21-krone-7 (DB-21-C-7) or Dibenzo-30-krone-10 (DB-30-C-10) with 12-molybdate phosphorus acid (HPMo) or 12-tungsten phosphorus acid (HPW) or 12-molybdate silicic acid (HSiMo) or 12-tungsten silicic acid (HSiW) or their Na-, K-; TI or NH 4 salts can be used.n n n The adduct compounds are used as a stationary phase which is brought into contact with the aqueous solution containing cesium ions for extracting the cesium from the aqueous solution, the stationary phase being loaded with cesium ions. Very high K d values for cesium were achieved.
