Formylcyannorbornan is prepared by hydroformylating cyannorbornene with an H2 / CO gas mixture with a (mol) ratio of H2: CO of greater than 1, preferably from about 1.5 to 5, in particular from about 1.5 to 3. The process works with high selectivity and yield. The process product formylcyannorbornan is mainly an intermediate product in various fields such as in the polymer sector. |
