titleOfInvention | Monoazo compounds, process for their preparation and their use as dyestuffs |
abstract | Water-soluble monoazo compounds of the general formula (1)
in which M represents a hydrogen atom or the equivalent of a metal, such as preferably sodium or potassium, R is a hydrogen atom or the methyl, ethyl, methoxy or ethoxy group which Vinylsulfonyl group in the benzene nucleus is bound in the meta or para position to the acylated amino group and the second group of the formula -SO3M in the naphthalene nucleus is bound in the meta or para position to the acylated amino group. They can be prepared in a conventional manner by reacting an azo compound of the general formula (2)
with a corresponding amino compound of the general formula (3)
or by reacting an azo compound of the general formula (4)
with a connection of the general (5)
. The new compounds of formula (1) are valuable dyes with fiber-reactive properties. They deliver strong, true colors and prints on materials containing hydroxyl and / or carbonamide groups, preferably fiber materials; they are particularly suitable for dyeing (including printing) cellulosic fiber materials and wool that has been treated with low or no felt. |
