Sedimentation-stable dispersions of aminoplasts are obtained by condensation of aldehydes with aminoplast formers in an aqueous medium in the presence of water-soluble compounds of the formula with the substituent meanings mentioned in the description. The condensation is preferably carried out in the presence of dyes or optical brighteners having condensable groups. The dispersions obtained are particularly suitable for whitening coating slips used in the paper industry and for coating paper, wood, foils and textiles. |
