titleOfInvention Gel-forming composition based on a cellulose ether, process for preparing a gel, process for the reversible destruction of this gel and its use in secondary oil recuperation
abstract Gel-forming composition based on a cellulose ether, a process for the preparation of a gel, a process for reversibly lifting the gel and its use in the secondary production of petroleumn n n The invention relates to a gel-forming composition based on a) water, b) a water-soluble mixed cellulose ether with at least one nonionic substituent from the group of hydroxyalkyl and alkyl and at least one anionic phosphorus-containing substituent and c) a salt having an at least divalent cation; the phosphorus-containing substituent is a phosphonoalkyl or a P-alkyl-phosphinoalkyl group.n n n The invention also encompasses a method for producing a gel from this composition by mixing the solid components in dry form and then dissolving them in water or by mixing the components in an aqueous system and by adjusting or presetting the pH value required for gel formation. The gel produced in this way can, however, also be reversibly reversed by adding an agent which complexes the cation, in particular in terms of its content of Al 3+ -Fe 3+ -, Zr 4+ - or ZrO 2+ ions with more than one of these ions stoichiometric amount of fluoride ions. This gel-forming composition is used in particular in oil production technology for the secondary production of oil.
