A method and apparatus for separating blood components by means of sedimentation due to gravitational force. The blood to be separated is continuously passed through a blood flow channel (4) comprising one or more flat spaces having a thickness of, for example, 20mm or less, or one or more tubular spaces having a cross-sectional area of, for example, 3 cm 2 or less. n The time it takes the blood to pass through the flow channel (4) varies, for example, between 2 and 20 minutes. An opening (7a) for a feed line (7) is provided in a first space (2) of the apparatus and two (8a, 9a) or more openings for discharge lines (8, 9) of the separated blood components are provided in a second space (5). These spaces (2,5) are connected to the blood flow channel (4). |
