abstract |
A transparent low alkalinity bar soap based on a tetrakis (hydroxyalkyl) ethylene diamine having the formulan wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl group having one to four carbon atoms and n is one to four. The soap is prepared by adding the tetrakis (hydroxyalkyl) ethylene diamine to a mixture of caustic soda, saponifiable fatty oil, water and a polyhydric alcohol, either before or after saponification, followed by addition of one or more superfatting agents as well as other ingredients designed to affect the properties of the bar for humectant, surfactant and perfuming purposes. |
