abstract | Compositions are disclosed which are particularly useful as mask adhesives in image-recording elements such as instant photographic products. These compositions comprise a polymeric acidic component having at least 3 milliequivalents of acid per gram of polymer, and a substantially immobile, blocked photographic development restrainer or a substantially immobile, blocked competing photographic developer. In image-recording elements, these compositions provide mask adhesives that form high strength permanent bonds while greatly improving border quality around image areas after imagewise exposure and development. |
