abstract The invention relates to pharmaceutical preparations containing new substituted ethers of the formula 1 in which Ph is an optionally substituted 1,2-phenylene radical, R for a lower aliphatic hydrocarbon radical optionally substituted by a Ph 1 radical, where Ph 1 is an optionally substituted phenyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical containing 3 to 7 carbon atoms, an aromatic character by a heterocyclic radical substituted lower alkyl radical or a radical of the formula (CH 2 CH 2 O) n -CH 2 CH 2 OR 4 , where n is 0, 1 or 2 and R 4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, each of the symbols R 1 and R 2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl, R 3 is an optionally substituted phenyl radical Ph i , an optionally substituted by Ph, lower alkyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical containing 3 to 7 carbon atoms; a cycloalkyl-Ph 1 radical, in which cycloalkyl and Ph 1 have the meanings given above, or a heterocyclic radical of aromatic character, and therapeutically usable salts of these compounds, with lipid-lowering, antiarteriosclerotic and analgesic effects. Also included are new substituted ethers of Formula I, and their salts, except for the compound of Formula I, wherein Ph is unsubstituted 1,2-phenylene, R is ethyl, each of the symbols R, and R 3 is methyl, R 2 stands for hydrogen, and their perchlorate. The new compounds can be obtained, for example, by etherification of a compound corresponding to formula I, in which R represents hydrogen.
