titleOfInvention | Propylamine derivative and process of manufacturing the same |
abstract | A novel propylamine derivative represented by the general formula (I) can be obtained by subjecting olefins represented by the formula (II) to reaction with Schiff bases represented by the formula (III),n wherein R 1 and R 2 are identical or different radicals selected from the group consisting of methoxycarbonyl, ethoxycarbonyl, propoxycarbonyl, butoxycarbonyl, cyano or carbamoyl, or R' and R 2 as defined form in combination a cyclic imide, and 0 is a phenyl radical. n The above compound can be readily converted into α-amino acid through hydrolysis, and benzophenone produced during the above process as a by-product may be recycled for use as a starting material for manufacturing Schiff bases (III). |
