abstract The invention relates to a method for separating plasma or serum from whole blood, the blood slowly seeping through a layer of glass fibers with an average diameter of 0.2-5 .mu.m and a density of 0.1-0.5 g cm 3 can and the running plasma wins, the volume of the plasma or serum to be separated being at most 50%, preferably less than 30% of the suction volume of the glass fiber layer, and means for carrying out the method.
