titleOfInvention Solid prepolymers dispersable in water and containing isocyanate groups and a process for the preparation of aqueous polymer dispersions by making use of these prepolymers
abstract The invention relates to below 40 ° C solid, water-dispersible, isocyanate groups, and urethane, urea and 'or amide groups-containing plastic precursors with a molecular weight below 20,000, which have a dispersibility in water content of chemically incorporated hydrophilic groups or potential have hydrophilic groups, an isocyanate content of 0.2-18% by weight and a content of -NH groups in the form of urethane, urea or amide groups of 1.3 to 13% by weight; and a process for the preparation of aqueous plastic dispersions using these plastic precursors, in which the plastic precursors are introduced into water in lumpy or powdery form or poured over with water, any groups present which can be converted into ionic groups, optionally before or during after Contacting with water at least partially converted into ionic groups, and then the dispersed plastic precursors are then reacted with water or other chain extenders or crosslinking agents, so that a stable, storable aqueous plastic dispersion is obtained; and the use of the plastic precursors as water-dispersible crosslinking agents for aqueous dispersions of plastics having groups which are reactive toward isocyanate groups.
