abstract |
A method of testing an eye for defocus comprises illuminating the retina with a flash of light from a point source (30); at a position surrounding the point source (30) receiving light reflected by the retina and recording the received light through a radially symmetrical focusing system (22) focused closer than the eye; repeating the illumination and recording the received light through a radially symmetrical focusing system (22) focused beyond the eye; and from the two records determining the direction of any defocus of the eye. |
