abstract The invention relates to a process for the catalytic conjugation of double bonds of polyunsaturated fatty substances in order to improve their drying properties. The process consists in using ruthenium deposited on charcoal as the catalyst at a rate of 0.01 to 0.1% by weight of metal relative to that of the product to be conjugated, at a temperature between 180 and 250 ° C., preferably in the presence of 'a non-oxidizing gas and possibly a protic compound. One application is that of coatings such as: paints and varnishes, glues.
