abstract Continuous production of an alkane sulfonyl chloride by the action of chlorine on the dialkyl disulfide corresponding to this alkane, in the presence of water or an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid.n n n A fine emulsion (1) of dialkyl disulfide (3) is first prepared with water (4) or with an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid (35) after which this emulsion is treated with chlorine (12) under constant agitation (10).n n n Preferably, the settling of the alkane sulfonyl chloride formed is carried out in two different zones (19-20), the second (20) of which works under reduced pressure.
