abstract |
A process for the production of a hydration product of an ethylene-glycidyl acrylate compound copolymer comprising subjecting from 5 to 80 mole % of the epoxy groups the copolymer to hydration in a three-component solvent consisting of a good solvent, a poor solvent other than water and water at a temperature of higher than the melting point of the copolymer in the presence or absence of a catalyst. The hydration reaction product is obtained in powdery form without using any specific pulverizing means and has excellent properties. The product has various uses, for example as an inter- layer for laminated safety glass, and in powder coating compositions. |
