titleOfInvention | Anti-inflammatory drugs and their application |
abstract | Inflammation of the skin tissues can be treated by adding an effective amount of a compound of the general formula wherein X is a sulfur or oxygen atom, Y the group -CH =, -CH 2 - or -N =, R lower alkyl or hydroxy lower alkyl, R 'lower alkyl, halogen, cyano, lower alylithio, carboxy or lower alkyl carboxy and Z represents the number 0 or 1, with the proviso that R 'bromine and X represent a sulfur atom if Y represents the group -CH 2 - and X represents an oxygen atom if Y represents the group -N =, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, optionally in combination with a compound of the general formula wherein R 1 is halogen, hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy and R 2 , R 3 and R 4 independently of one another are hydrogen, lower alkoxy or hydroxy-lower alkoxy, with the proviso that at least one of the radicals R 2 , R 3 and R 4 is one means oxygen-containing substituents, or two adjacent radicals R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 together mean methylenedioxy, applied topically to the inflamed area. n n n These active substances are expediently used in the form of pharmaceutical preparations which contain an effective amount of these active substances and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier material which is suitable for topical use, e.g. in the form of gels, creams, lotions, ointments, powders, aerosols, pastilles and suppositories.n n n Medicaments containing a compound of general formula 1 or a salt thereof and a compound of general formula II are new per se, i.e. regardless of the type of pharmaceutical dosage form that these substances contain. |
