Dihalotriazinylaminonaphthol compounds of the general formula (1) in which the radicals X each represent a chlorine, bromine or fluorine atom, is pure hydrogen atom or an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, M represents a hydrogen atom or the equivalent of a metal and Z represents a hydrogen atom or a group of Formula -SO 3 M with M having the meaning given above are obtained by reacting an aminonaphthol compound of the general formula (2) in which R, M and Z have the meanings given above, with a cyanuric halide compound of the general formula (3) in which X has the meanings given above, in water as a reaction medium at a pH of 5 or less than 5, by using the aminonaphthol compound of the formula (2) in solid, undissolved form in the reaction and carrying out the reaction in suspension. |
