Process for the radical polymerization of acrylic and methacrylic acid, their esters and amides, acrylonitrile and styrene, using a liquid medium which comprises a melt of organic compounds which are solid at room temperature, preferably saturated or unsaturated, straight-chain or branched fatty acids with up to 30 (8 to 26 ) C atoms or their derivatives (esters, amides, fatty alcohols) with dropping points between 25 and 120 (40 to 110) ° C. The weight ratio of monomers to the solid organic compounds should be 10 to 90:90 to 10 (25 to 75:75 to 25). The process allows the direct production of plastic additives for plastics processing, especially for the processing of elasomeric, thermoplastic polymers and thermosets, in particular by hot forming. |
