abstract |
The Karl Fischer reagent, which contains sulfur dioxide, iodine and pyridine as essential components, is used for the measurement analysis of small amounts of water. The replacement of pyridine with certain nitrogen bases is advantageous. Selected aliphatic amines and nitrogen-containing heterocycles, in particular imidazoles, are particularly suitable for this. The pyridine-free titrant is characterized by a high storage stability; it can be used as a two-component reagent and as a one-component reagent. |
