titleOfInvention | Process for prophylactic registration of putrefaction in food |
abstract | Putrefaction in foodstuffs or raw materials for the manufacture of foodstuffs is detected by determining spectral data on a sample and by comparing the spectral data thus recorded with corresponding data which are statistically correlated with the probability of development of the putrefaction. To detect Phoma and / or Fusarium infections in potatoes, peel a thin layer of the potatoes, which are then irradiated with ultraviolet light. Any resulting fluorescence with a wavelength of approximately 475-500 nm is isolated and fluorescence data are recorded and compared with predetermined data for the variety of potatoes examined. This method can be implemented with an apparatus which comprises means (23) for emitting ultraviolet light, means (13) for detecting the intensity of the fluorescence in the ultraviolet and means for reading (25), a potato store (21), as well as means (10, 11, 12) between the store (21) and the detection means (13) for isolating the wavelength fluorescence d '' about 475-500 nm. |
