A novel process for preparing a compound of the formulan is described wherein each R 6 is the residue of an indole-dihydroindole alkaloid of the formulan whereinn R 2 is CH 3 or H; when taken singly, one of R 3 and R 4 is OH or H and the other is C 2 H 5 and R 5 is H; and when R 4 and R 5 are taken together, they form an α-epoxide ring and R 3 is C 2 H 5 Q is S-S and each n is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 which comprises reacting an azide of the formula R 6 -N 3 with a diamine of the formulan in the ratio of two moles of R 6 -N 3 per mole of diamine. |
