titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of substituted 2-hydroxy-benzophenones
abstract 1. Process for the preparation of substituted 2-hydroxybenzophenones of the formula see diagramm : EP0032275,P5,F2 wherein R is a non-substituted saturated aliphatic group by reacting in a first stage trichloromethylbenzene with m-dihydroxybenzene in the presence of a solvent and alkylating in a second stage the obtained 2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone, characterized in that the solvent contains a compound of the formula ROH wherein R has the meaning given above and that the second stage is executed by the addition of a basic agent without separation of the product of the first stage.
