titleOfInvention Process for preparing aryl esters of carboxylic acids
abstract Aryl esters of carboxylic acids can be prepared in aqueous solution under mild conditions by catalytic decomposition of monoarylthallium (III) salts of the general formula Ar-TIXY, where Ar denotes mononuclear and polynuclear aryl residues or heteroaryl residues and X and Y are both identical carboxylate residues and different carboxylate residues or a carboxylate residue and an acid residue of a strong acid. The palladium salts with a catalytic action are dissolved in a water-immiscible solvent and the reaction takes place in a two-phase reaction.
