Polymer dispersions are described which contain N-methylol (meth) acrylamide and also a coalescing agent. The polymer dispersions are used alone or in combination with base lacquers based on cationic water-soluble acrylic copolymers for open-pore to closed-pore lacquering of wooden surfaces. The polymer dispersions can have the following composition: 30-65% by weight methyl methacrylate 10-17% by weight ethyl acrylate 10-30% by weight butyl methacrylate 5-20% by weight styrene 3-10% by weight of N-methylol (meth) acrylamide and as a coalescing agent 5-15% by weight, based on the dispersion of a mixture 20-65% by weight of a high-boiling lacquer solvent of the 2,2,4-trimethylpentane-1,5-diol-mono-trimethylacetate and 80-35% by weight of ethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate and / or ethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate. |
