Cross-linkable co-condensation products based on phenol-butyraldehyde resins and thermoplasts, their preparation and use |
abstract |
Preparation of mixed condensation products by condensing 0.8 to 2.0 mol of butyraldehyde with 1 mol of a phenol at temperatures from 80 to 220 ° C., 5 to 50% by weight, based on the mixture of phenol, before, during or after the condensation and butyraldehyde, at least one functional group-containing thermoplastic, which reacts under the condensation conditions with phenol, butyraldehyde or the phenol-butyraldehyde resins, comminuting the mixed condensation product to a particle size of 5 to 400 micrometers and mixing the comminuted condensation product with 1 to 10% by weight of boric acid and / or 5 to 40% of aluminum hydroxide or aluminum oxide. The mixtures are used as hot melt adhesives and as binders for nonwovens; practically no phenol is released during the processing of the products. The products can be classified as flame retardant. |
