abstract New copper complex azo compounds which, written in the form of the free acid, have the general formula (1) have in which A represents the phenylene radical which can be substituted by alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, chlorine and / or bromine, or the naphthylene radical which is substituted by 1 to 3 sulfonic acid groups may be, X is the vinyl group or represents the ethyl radical which is substituted in the β-position by an alkali-eliminable group. The new azo compounds are colored compounds which have fiber-reactive properties, so that they can advantageously be used as fiber-reactive dyes for dyeing and printing fiber materials, preferably cellulose fiber materials, or leather.
