The stability of tin (II) salts and water-containing oral and dental care products is improved or achieved by adding a surface-active cationic amine salt or quaternary ammonium salt or a polyol or a mixture thereof; the tin salts' inhibitory effects against plaque formation and dental caries are fully preserved or are even potentiated by the addition. The new agents also advantageously contain a nonionic water-soluble ethylene oxide adduct as solubilizer and emulsifier, which further enhances the stabilizing effect. |
