titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of 3,3-dimethyl-4-pentene amides |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 3,3-dimethyl-pent-4-enoic acid amides of the formula R and R 2 may be the same or different and represent an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or, together with the nitrogen atom, the substitutions of which they are, form a 5- or 6-membered saturated ring which may also contain a further hetero atom, by reacting acetamide acetals or ketene acetal aminals with 3-methyl-but-2-en-1-ol. The reaction is carried out at a temperature in the range between 80 and 220 ° C, optionally in the presence of an inert organic solvent. The process products are valuable intermediates for the production of insecticidally active cyclopropane carboxylic acid esters. |
