titleOfInvention | Polyurethane resins and polyurethane resin coating compositions |
abstract | Polyurethane resins are provided by the reaction of polyols with trifunctional isocyanates of the following general formulan wherein R is a divalent hydrocarbon group with 2 or 3 carbon atoms. n The reaction between the polyol and the trifunctional isocyanate is effected at an NCO/OH mole ratio of 0.5 to 2.0 and adjustments are made so that the concentration of the carbamide groups is 5 x 10 -4 to 50 x 10 -4 moles per gram of the reaction product, and that the bridging parameter is 150 to 1,500. n The resins may be used for polyurethane resin coatings. |
