titleOfInvention Error recognition and correction of digital information
abstract Apparatus and technique for converting analog data, preferably audio signals, into digital information, which digital information is preferably recorded from two separate main channels (11, 12) on main tracks (22a, 22b) and a third track or reserve track (22c) to record certain parts or the most important parts of this information recorded on the main tracks. The apparatus and techniques of the invention apply to each group of data on each main track and the reserve track; it also consists in checking (27) the synchronization of the codes arranged between the data groups, and in checking (30) the correspondence between the appropriate part of the data of the main track and the data on the reserve track, with, when potentially false or uncertain data is detected, the invention compares the data groupings of the main track and the reserve track (31) to determine which is the correct one or, in the case where none of the data groups cannot be judged as correct, the device ensures the substitution of the last correct data or the integration between the correct data. The preferred invention incorporates synchronization at the input of signals for data stabilization, and a first input - first output circuit system (32) at the output to reduce the effects of wow and fluctuation to produce a digital / digital conversion. very good quality analog to transmit to a speaker system.
