abstract The invention relates to the field of thermal protections intended to protect the internal walls of powder propellants during the emission of hot gases produced by the combustion of propellant blocks.n n n The invention relates to an asbestos-free thermal protection consisting essentially of 100 parts by weight of synthetic rubber, from 0 to 100 parts by weight of a chemical compound with endothermic decomposition and from 50 to 150 parts by weight of a filler material based on silica and aromatic polyamide fibers, said thermal protection comprising at least 15 parts by weight of aromatic polyamide fibers.n n n The thermal protections produced according to the invention have performances similar to thermal protections comprising asbestos.
